Dear members and former members

There is some interest in having a blog to provide announcements, schedules and news for St. John, Charter Oak. Because of this, I decided that rather than merely letting this site lay fallow, we should start using it.

I know that even with the 125th anniversary behind us, there are plenty of "Charter Oak diaspora" out there with lots of memories about St. John Lutheran Church, Lutheran School, Noah's Ark Preschool, LYF, LWML, LLL, Pastors and Vicars. I would like to offer this blog as a touch-stone for you to thank God for how He has worked in your lives and to reconnect in fellowship with your friends, family and brothers and sisters in Christ.

Please send me any pictures or stories you'd like me to post and I will get on it right away.

Rally Day 2009

Sunday, July 19, 2009

St. John in Charter Oak hosted Vacation Bible School the week of July 19. Gadget’s Garage was a fun, week-long adventure for over 65 children!
During the week students met a teen genius named Gadget who spent lots of time tinkering in his garage workshop, creating unique inventions out of old items found around the house. His latest and best was a friendly and wacky robot named Gizmo.

Gadget and Gizmo’s adventures introduced kids to five incredible Bible stories that showed the wonders of God’s world, His indescribable love in Christ, and His unshakable Word in the Bible. Gadget helped kids remember that God’s Always Doing Great, Exciting Things through Jesus, our Savior and Lord!
